Whatever the reason for your visit, we can accommodate you

Accommodation

Our Setting

Our suites are housed in a converted stable block with a courtyard to one side and a 2-acre wild flower meadow to the other. The suites are accessed from a west-facing conservatory where you will find seating to enjoy the wonderful sunsets that Thaxted has to offer. 

Our Rooms

The accommodation comprises of 5 suites, one of which is on ground level with wheel-chair access and a wet room. There is also a family room that sleeps 4 people. Each suite consists of:


  • Bedroom with en suite shower room.
  • Separate private lounge/dining area.
  • Fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster.
  • TV with freeview.
  • High-speed internet.
  • Hairdryer.
  • Free parking.

Our Breakfast

A self-service continental style breakfast is available at an extra cost, if requested. This will be provided in your private lounge/dining area. This means early departure times are not a problem. For guests staying for longer durations, we will arrange provision of breakfast so that you are not disturbed.

    Out & About

    The town of Thaxted grew around a Saxon settlement along the old Roman road and boasts a magnificent 14th century church, a half-timbered Guildhall and a restored windmill. Thaxted is famous not least of all for its Morris Ring and hosts a Morris weekend each year. This takes place the first weekend after the Spring Bank Holiday when hundreds of dancers meet to entertain the town and surrounding villages. The annual Thaxted Music Festival takes place in June/July and is held in the spectacular setting of the Church.

    The town has a range of amenities including pubs and restaurants offering great evening meal options.

    The Church

      Building work on the Church of St John the Baptist began in 1340 and it took 170 years to complete. 

    The Guildhall

     Work on the Guildhall commenced in 1390 and was completed by the turn of the century. 

    The Windmill

    We offer a room only rate for guests not requiring breakfast. Tableware can still be provided, meaning guests are entitled to bring their own continental breakfast supplies.

    Serviced Accommodation

    Payment is requested via bank transfer 2 weeks prior to arrival. On receipt of this information a confirmation will be sent and the booking will be binding in line with our cancellation policy which is: more than one week there will be no charge; less than one week will incur a 50% charge; for a no-show on the day the full amount will be due. Arrival time is from 2pm and departure by 10am. If rooms are not vacated by this time an extra charge may incur. We do not accommodate pets and no smoking is allowed on the premises.
